LAS CRUCES, NM — A letter from outgoing NMSU Provost Wendy Wilkins is creating a buzz on campus.
In the letter addressed to Interim President Manuel Pacheco, Wilkins outlines several problems that she says are keeping the school stagnant, among them, "The University's failure to create a clear vision for itself."
Wilkins says NMSU has failed to distinguish itself either in policy or in public perception from the sort of academic work carried out by the community colleges.
Wilkins resigned from her position of Chief Academic Officer last week, less than two months after NMSU President Barbara Couture also resigned.
