LAS CRUCES — Just weeks after naming an interim president New Mexico State University will now have to search for a new provost and executive vice president.
Doctor Wendy Wilkins announced she's resigning her position as cheif academic officer Tuesday afternoon. She planned on retiring at the beginning of next year.
NMSU has already named former administrator Jay Jordan as a temporary replacement while a new provost and vice president is found. Wilkins will leave her position at the end of the week and be on leave until the end of the semester. She has served as provost since 2010.
