Today's New York City Marathon went on as planned despite the devastation from Hurricane Sandy.
Some say they're dedicating the race to the lives of those who were lost in the super storm and helping the city recover from the hurricane.
The first leg of the race passed up 4th Avenue which is not far from the areas that were flooded.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the race did not take away from resources the city is using to recover from the storm.
