A new study reveals women who are overweight or smoke during pregnancy increase their risk of having overweight kids. In fact, smoking boosted the risk by nearly half.
Researchers say a high birth weight and rapid weight gain in the first year of life also contributed to children becoming overweight. However, breastfeeding cut the risk of overweight children by 15-percent.
