Texas State Troopers Allegedly Arrest Socorro Employees

Officials Seeking Fifth Arrest Warrant

SOCORRO — Texas State Troopers arrested four Socorro employees who work at the city's police department.

At this time it's unclear why the four were appehended.  El Paso District Attorney Jaime Esparza is investigating.

According to Socorro Spokesperson Dave Garcia, there has been an ongoing investigation, but said, "It's much bigger than we originally thought."

Garcia said four arrest warrants were executed, and a fifth arrest warrant may have been issued.

State Troopers also executed multiple search warrants to for files and computers of the employees.  The names of those arrested have not been released.
