Anthony Rotich and Risper Kimaiyo declared the 2012 Conference USA individual titles on Monday morning.
“I am happy for Anthony (Rotich) and Risper (Kimaiyo) and what they have accomplished for our program today,” said head coach Paul Ereng. “This was Anthony’s first Conference USA title and judging by today’s performance, he will be one the top distance runners in the NCAA.”

The Kenyan native was also named the freshman of the meet for his performance at the C-USA Championship. This was the freshman’s fourth victory of his 2012 campaign.
“For Anthony the sky is the limit,” said Ereng. “The quartet of Elkana (Rotich), Elphas (Maiyo), Juan (Blanco) and Ramon (Garcia) competed well, resulting in the teams second place finish.”
