LAS CRUCES, NM — Las Cruces Utilities has rectified an issue with its bill printing program that resulted in incomplete or incorrect information appearing on certain utility bills.
Customers are advised that while billing details may not be accurately printed, the total amount due on the invoice is correct.
“Incorrect statements from all but one billing cycle were pulled before being sent to the post office for mailing,” said Jose Provencio, administrative services administrator for Las Cruces Utilities.
Only bills that were printed or emailed on October 18 or 19 are affected. A coding change in the bill printing program is responsible for the problem.
Impacted customers are advised that no late payment fees will be applied and that these corrected bills will not have the usual historical water and gas consumption graphs printed on them for this month only. The affected bills are being processed for distribution by mail or email.
Las Cruces Utilities apologizes for any inconvenience and encourages all customers to help offset similar occurrences in the future by switching to E-Billing. With E-Billing, the utility bill arrives by email, eliminating delays caused by processing, printing and postal problems.
Signing up for E-Billing is free and easy. Email a request to customerservice@las-cruces.org<mailto:customerservice@las-cruces.org>. Include name, physical address, email address and complete Utilities account number.
