Portales, N.M. — The New Mexico food company linked to an outbreak of salmonella poisoning has expanded its recall to include raw and roasted peanuts.
Sunland Inc., based out of Portales, began a voluntary recall of peanut butter on Sept. 24 after one of its products was linked to a salmonella outbreak.
The recall was later expanded to other products... and the company's peanut processing plant in new mexico was shut down.
Now the food and drug administration has found salmonella in raw peanuts from the same plant. Sunland has now recalled everything made in its contaminated plant since March 2010.
