The financially struggling U.S. Postal Service announced that it would increase stamp prices by a penny next year.
Starting January 27th, the stamp to mail a one-ounce letter will cost 46 cents.
The USPS will still honor "forever" stamps, which remain valid even after stamp prices increase.
The Postal Service will also offer a new, global Forever stamp starting next year, which customers can use to send letters anywhere in the world for a set price of $1.10.
The mail agency is facing a cash crisis, and has defaulted twice in recent months on payments required by congress.
