The number of people killed in a fungal meningitis outbreak is going up. The Centers for Disease Control said today that seven people have now died from the illness. There have been 64 cases in nine states.
The outbreak has been linked to steroid injections. Health officials say around 75 medical facilities in 23 states received the contaminated products. The plant where the steroid was made has recalled "all" of its products and has voluntarily shut down.
