EL PASO — The jury reached a verdict in the trial against Miguel Vargas, 23, Wednesday afternoon.
He was found guilty on all counts involving a fiery accident last December that killed two and injured two others.
Vargas was facing two counts of intoxicated manslaughter and two counts of intoxicated assault.
He claimed he was not intoxicated when he crashed his Mitsubishi Lancer, even though police said his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. Vargas' lawyers said he wasn't responsible for the deaths of his passengers because they weren't wearing seat belts.
The sentencing phase of the trial begins Thursday.
