EL PASO — The County Sportspark in Zaragoza commenced its first phase Wednesday morning on 1780 Zaragoza.
County officials said during the first phase, construction of the administrative and ticket booth building, concession building and batting cages will be completed, as well as upgrades to the tee-ball fields and the park's infrastructure.
They said phase II will consist of the construction of a new clubhouse, which will include amenities such as a pro-shop, restaurant, family restrooms and concession area. Additionally, the four fields around the perimeter of the clubhouse will receive upgrades during phase II.
"I am extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication that has been invested not only by my office, but from the County, Parkhill Smith and Cooper and loyal park patrons in this project. I am fully aware of what the Sportspark means to the local baseball community, it's a huge deal".
