The UTEP women are back at practice. After an NCAA Tournament appearance last year, the Miners have begun basketball workouts leading up to next month's season opener against St. Mary's.
Head Coach Keitha Adams enters her 12th season at UTEP, already the winningest coach in school history. The UTEP Women's basketball team went 29-4 last season, 15-1 in Conference USA, falling to Penn State 85-77 in the NCAA Tournament.
UTEP returns seven letterwinners from the 2011-2012 team, including three starters in Anete Steinberga, Kayla Thornton and Kelli Willingham.
UTEP welcomes seven newcomers, including six freshman.
