EL PASO, TX — A local charity is helping an El Paso family in a big way. Habitat for Humanity kicked off their community blitz build Sunday at the Sunshine Community Church in east El Paso. The charity selected the Ramirez family to received a new home because their current home was declared unlivable a year ago. The family has been renting a home, while still making mortgage payments. The family's old home will be demolished. Construction for their new home will begin on Oct. 1st, World Habitat Day. Construction is set to be completed in two weeks, with the help of local organizations and volunteers throughout the community.
