If you needed a scientific justification for eating chocolate, here it is. Researchers in Canada decided to test the brain-boosting potency of a flavonoid thought to be key in chocolate's alleged health benefits.
The scientists, who started out skeptical, found the flavonoid helped snails remember a simple activity in lab experiments. It's unclear if chocolate has the same effect in humans, but it does add to a growing body of evidence that chocolate especially dark chocolate, may be considered a "super food."
