A local school is doing its part for earthquake victims in Haiti.
Loretto Academy students today donated $4,000 to the American Red Cross.
The money was raised through bake sales, classroom competitions, donations from their allowance as well as collections during weekly mass.
A Loretto senior said, "When people need help, it's our duty not only as Christians, as Catholics as people of faith, as people of community to help out, it doesn't matter where they come from, we need to help."
Loretto Academy plans to continue collecting money through the end of the year.
