LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Centennial High School marked their history Saturday morning by placing a time capsule at the center of their campus.
The five-foot tall capsule will be opened in 25 years.
"We put a lot of stuff in there from our cross country team the band different sports at the moment it has a lot of stuff in there," said Sofia Bali, a sophomore at Centennial.
The time capsule was filled with photos of students, an album of the school's construction and the scissors used during the official ribbon cutting ceremony.
Students said everybody at the school was well represented.
"It was really nice that our principal really included everybody when he was doing this time capsule," said Nicolette Young. "He included all the sports teams and I'm in student government so we got to include a ticket to our dance."
The time capsule also included some present-day technology.
"I think having the iPod in there is pretty cool cause in 25 years they are probably not going to use iPods or anything close to that so they won't know what to do with it," Bali said.
