Deputies Seize Meth in Abandoned Car

MONTANA VISTA — El Paso County Sheriff's deputies happened upon a large meth stash while on patrol Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were driving eastbound on the 13800 block on Montana Ave. when they spotted a blue Lincoln Town car parked off the side of the road, it stated.

After trying to contact the car's owner with no results, a drug-sniffing dog was called out to the scene.

The dog positively identified drugs in the car, and deputies found 11 Kilos of meth in a compartment.

The meth has a street value of more than $300,000.

The investigation continues.
