EL PASO — As the search for a superintendent in the El Paso Independent School District continues, the school board is searching for a new interim superintendent.
The position is currently filled by Dr. Terri Jordan.
The agenda for Tuesday's EPISD School Board meeting includes finding a temporary interim superintendent.
Jordan took leadership of the district in August, 2011 after the arrest of former superintendent Lorenzo Garcia on public corruption charges.
Jordan worked under Garcia as the Chief of Staff for EPISD, and was in the position at the time of Garcia's arrest.
A community activist group made up of parents and teachers called for the district to fire anyone who was involved in corruption within the district.
District officials have not said why they decided to replace Jordan.
