Doctors Warn Potential Dangers With Detergent Capsules

Doctors are calling for improved packaging for laundry and dishwasher detergent capsules to make them child resistant. Poison call centers nationwide have reported an increase in calls about children under the age of five consuming colorful detergent pods.
 

Detergent pods contain strong alkaline cleaning agents, which can destroy tissue and block airways. The pods are often much more potent than typical detergent.
