El Paso — Work is underway to fix problems within the El Paso Independent School District. Earlier this month the Texas Education Agency placed the district on probation, citing data integrity and corruption issues. Many of the problems will take months to fix. This Tuesday, August 27th, the EPISD board will get an update on progress made so far, as well the district's response to the Texas Education Agency's decision to place the district on probation. That board meeting starts at five p.m. at the Education Center on Boeing Drive.
Also, make sure to tune in Newschannel 9 Tuesday night. We'll be sitting down with TEA monitor Judy Castleberry to learn more about how the probation status could effect students. Castleberry will also answering your questions. If you've got one, leave it on our facebook page.
