EL PASO - Two very special El Pasoans got the "royal treatment" when they won the "Royal Makeover" contest put on by KTSM.
The winners new looks were revealed to the public at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery in West El Paso.
"Everybody told me it was going to take years off my face, I said no," said Susan Ramirez. " I believe it now."
"I feel that I look 10 years younger, and I feel 10 years younger," said Lorenzo Ramirez, no relation to Susan.
The two were made over from head-to-toe. From new clothes, jewelry, manicures, pedicures, and a haircut, to cosmetic services like laser dermabrasion, botox, and collagen injections from El Paso Cosmetic Surgery.
The two won after family members wrote in to Newschannel 9.
Lorenzo Ramirez is a special ed teacher at Cadwallader Elementary, and that's why his wife said he deserved this lift in spirits.
"(She wrote) that if anybody needed a makeover, it was me, due to how hard I work at school. It's a hard day, but a lot of my job is physical work," said Lorenzo.
Doctors at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery say that's reason enough for them to help.
"It is important that we recognize individuals who are trying to do something extra, and I think it was important today for them that they got recognized."
Recognition, Susan says, she would never give herself.
"First of all, I have 2 (children) in college, so something like this for me farthest from my mind right now," she said.
"I recommend every gentleman to come down and get one of these treatments and experience it!" said Lorenzo. "It's like golf. You don't know what it's like until you actually do it."
