Wednesday morning, Texas officials were vowing to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood.
This comes after a federal appeals court reversed a decision that allowed the funding to continue pending the outcome of a trial scheduled for later this year.
Planned Parenthood is suing the state of Texas after the state legislature passed a law that banned funds to organizations linked to abortion providers. The organization provides family planning and health services to low-income women in Texas who might not otherwise qualify for Medicaid.
According to the organization's website, three percent of all Planned Parenthood health services are abortion services.
In a statement Governor Rick Perry said: "The 5th circuit's decision is a win for Texas women, our rule of law and our state's priority to protect life. We will continue to work with Attorney General abbott in the fight to defend our state laws."
