EL PASO -- El Paso Electric said a problem at their Montwood substation has caused a power outage in East and Far East El Paso.
3,300 customers lost power at 8:42 Sunday including Sierra Providence East Hospital. The hospital has a back up generator which provided power during the outage.
Power was restored to some customers by 9:27, including the hospital.
El Paso Electric crews are investigating the cause by looking at underground cables.
Some customers remain without power but crews are working to restore power to all areas.
