The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta released new research on obesity in America.
The report found that, overall, a third of American adults are obese.
The finding is disappointing after decades of efforts to get Americans to lose weight. Healthcare costs for the obese are running at $150-billion a year, and run the risk of bankrupting the system.
The problem is brought on by the usual suspects: increased caloric intake and decreased activity.
