Burges grad John Skelton could start Friday against Kansas City in a preseason game while Kevin Kolb recovers from a chest injury. Kolb hurt his ribs in the first quarter of a 17-10 loss Sunday against New Orleans in the preseason opener after completing 1-4 passes and throwing an interceptoin. Skelton came in relief and lead the team on a 90-yard touchdown drive, the only touchdown of the game for Arizona.
"I'm just going to go in and compete. If I'm the starter, I'm excited about it. If I'm the back-up I'm going to keep working and try to become the starter. Whoever it is, the coaching staff and team will rally around and we are excited about it," said Skelton. "We have great dynamics. In the quarterback room we are always pulling for each other. We try to help each other out. There is no disconnect between the three of us. We all want the best for each other. We all know it's a business and we know that the best man is going to come out and be the starter."
Kolb is expected to see time Friday, however to what extent is unknown.
