New Mexico's struggling schools will have a chance to participate in a well known program aimed at turning troubled schools around. Governor Martinez made the announcement today, saying $3.5 million will be set aside for education improvements in schools with leadership training and professional development. She says the University of Virginia based program is aimed at the 319 schools that received a D or F under her administration's new grading system.
