The man behind a deadly shooting rampage in Arizona pleaded guilty Tuesday.
Jared Loughner killed six people and wounded 13 others, including former U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, in the 2011 shooting during a political gathering at a Tucson Supermarket.
Tuesday's plea came soon after a federal judge ruled Loughner to be competent, thanks to months of medication to treat his schizophrenia.
Loughner's plea also allows him to avoid the death penalty. He's expected to be sentenced to life in prison without parole.
