Bowie Plays In Second Half Of Doublheader
The Austin Panthers playoff run came to a halt Friday afternoon in San Angelo with a 64-59 loss to Mansfield Legacy.
The Golden Cats did not go down without a struggle. Austin trailed by 7 in the fourth quarter but ripped off a scoring run to tie the game at 50 with 3:30 remaining. That offensive run might have taken its toll out of Austin as Legacy closed out the game outscoring Austin 14-9.
The Panthers led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter and held a three point advantage at the half 31-28. Tony Baker scored 24 points while Timothy Bell added 21 in the defeat.
Austin finishes the season 28-7.
Bowie plays the second half of the regional semi final later this evening.
