LAS CRUCES — Increased amounts of precipitation in the past couple of weeks and higher humidity levels have allowed the Las Cruces Fire Department to rescind fire restrictions that were imposed in early June.
Fire restrictions within the city of Las Cruces were imposed on June 8 and, as of 9 a.m. Tuesday, have been rescinded.
The Las Cruces Fire Department may reinstate fire restrictions if climatic conditions, drought, fire danger or other factors present a threat to personal property or public safety. Residents are urged to use fire cautiously and safely.
Restrictions on fires remain in place within the unincorporated Dona Ana County.
