EL PASO — The mid-year Pollstar reports rank El Paso's Plaza Theatre 58th in wordwide theatre ticket sales, according to the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center. This is the second time in 2012 that the Plaza Theatre has been a distinguished venue on this worldwide list.
All figures calculated were for tickets sold worldwide as reported to Pollstar for shows played between the first six months of 2012. During this period the Plaza Theatre hosted a distinguished line up of shows, some including Willie Nelson, Mamma Mia!, Dave Koz, and Straight No Chaser.
Tickets sold also included the unforgettable 16 sold out performances of WICKED.
“It is an honor to once again be ranked amongst the top theatres in the world. Due in large part to the success of Wicked, we continue to have a very strong overall attendance this year,” Bryan Crowe, Assistant General Manager said.
Pollstar maintains the world’s largest database of international concert tour information and has the most reliable and accurate worldwide ticket sales results. Carol McNeal, Director, Facilities Sales and Marketing for the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center said, “To be recognized as a leader worldwide will continue to bring positive attention to the El Paso community.”
