LAS CRUCES — Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the identity and arrest of the person who fired shots at a home on Stanton Avenue this past May.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, police said that someone fired several rounds toward a home on the 1900 block of Stanton Avenue. One of the rounds struck a natural gas meter in front of the residence causing it to leak.
Officers cordoned off roadways surrounding the property and temporarily evacuated nearby homes until the gas meter was turned off.
The two people inside the home, women ages 64 and 54, were not injured. Detectives suspect that someone with a grudge against one of the women might be responsible for the shooting.
If you have any information on the identity of the person responsible for the shooting, or any information that may help investigators, you are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).
The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
