DOÑA ANA COUNTY — Officials with the Doña Ana County Vector Control are urging residents to remember the importance of removing standing water from their property during the monsoon season.
According to officials, it is the first line of defense in reducing the mosquito population in the county.
The wet weather makes for prime breeding conditions for mosquitos which can carry West Nile virus, encephalitis and other dangerous diseases.
