LAS CRUCES — A man and woman were arrested after reportedly stealing excessive amounts of alcohol in what's being called a shoplifting conspiracy.
Guadalupe Herrera Duran, 52, and Stephanie P. Gavaldon, 35, were both arrested Tuesday and have been charged with two counts each of shoplifting and conspiracy.
Detectives learned that on Monday and again the following day Duran and Gavaldon conspired to steal alcohol from the Albertson’s grocery store at 2551 E. Lohman Ave.
According to the report, the pair took at least 10 bottles of liquor from the store without paying. The following day, Duran drove Gavaldon and another woman to the same Albertson’s and waited outside while the women stole more alcohol from the store.
The identity of the other woman is not yet known but police are continuing their investigation.
Duran and Gavaldon were both transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
