One man was killed in an overnight head-on collision.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, a Hummer SUV was headed West on Alameda when it crossed into on-coming traffic and slammed head-on into a van that was traveling east. A third vehicle, an Oldmobile Alero, was also involved.
The driver of the van, identified as 36-year-old Manuel Martinez from Tornillo, TX, died in the crash. So far, he has only been identified as a man in his 40's.
A total of six people in the hummer were taken to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries. The 46-year-old driver of the Hummer was suspected to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and criminal charges are pending. The driver of the third vehicle did not report any injuries.
A portion of Alameda out in in Fabens was shut down for several hours overnight.
This marks the 4th fatality in El Paso County investigated by the EPCSO Special Traffic Investigators this year.
