EL PASO -- A woman is killed and four others are injured after a man upset he was asked to leave a house party early Sunday morning used his car to run them over, according to police.
Police have arrested Miguel Tinoco,19, and will be charged with the death of Miriam Aguirre, 23, and aggravated assault for injuring Christian Escapite, 23, Javier Montes, 19, David Rodriguez, 23, and a 16-year-old boy.
"What we've learned through this investigation is that this individual (Tinoco) was upset when asked to leave," said El Paso Police Spokesman Javier Sambrano.
Police said neighbors complained about the party prompting the homeowner to ask people to go home.
Through their investigation, police have determined Tinoco got into a maroon colored Mitsubishi Eclipse at about 1am and accelerated his car veering into the group of people standing outside.
Aguirre died at the scene. The others were taken to UMC for treatment of the injuries and are believed to be in serious but stable condition.
"We're continuing the investigation meeting with a lot of the people that were out there, that saw everything that occurred." said El Paso Police Spokesman Javier Sambrano.
The suspect hit five people and fled the scene, but was arrested at about 7:30pm Sunday.
This is the city's 14th murder of the year.
