EAST EL PASO — Two men are shot when they allegedly tried to stop a fight in east El Paso just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
El Paso police say a man and a woman started arguing in the parking lot of an apartment complex located on Bellrose and Viscount. The fight became physical.
Officers say a 23-year-old man and a 54-year-old man tried to break it up.
The man involved in the argument jumped into a car with four others.
Seconds later, someone with a shotgun jumped out the car and started shooting.
"These four individuals got into the vehicle and they preceded to drive away. They stopped the vehicle. One of the occupants of the vehicle got out, was armed with a shot gun and fired the shot gun at the direction of this 23-year-old,” said Javier Sambrano with The El Paso Police Department.
Both men were transported to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
