SOCORRO, TX — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant at Socorro City Hall on Monday.
The sheriff's office spokesperson said the search warrant is related to a criminal investigation of the city government.
Newschannel 9 saw several investigators walking out of city hall, getting into a car and driving away. They returned several minutes later, one of them was wearing white gloves and carrying a laptop.
Sources tell us seven sheriff's office vehicles pulled up to city hall at 2 p.m. Monday with two search warrants.
Dave Garcia with the City of Socorro said they are cooperating with the sheriff's on this investigation.
He also said deputies asked for vehicle logs from the city.
