The Tucson Padres are a team in flux. The City of El Paso voted to finance a new baseball stadium in downtown El Paso, and Tucson has been watching closely. MountainStar Sports Group, based in El Paso, will meet with Pacific Coast League officials on Friday in Dallas to discuss the potential to buy the Tucson Padres and move them to El Paso. The team is owned by Jeff Moorad, who owns the San Diego Padres. Mike Feder, the Tucson Padres' General Manager, told NC9 that he does not have any power in terms of negotiations.
"As the G.M., I am not involved any ownership decisions or negotiations, and so I have no comment on any discussions regarding the purchase of the Padres."
