A local teen is behind bars Sunday after investigators say he drove his car into a crowd of people, a spokesperson with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office says.
It happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday in the 13000 block of Tobacco, said office spokesman Dep. Jesse Tovar.
Deputies said Salome Alvarez, 18, became very upset after he was asked to leave a party, said Tovar.
They say he returned later and that's when he drove his car into the crowd of people, said Tovar.
Alvarez is now being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
One of the people hit was pinned underneath the car, the other fractured his leg, said Tovar.
The two are expected to make a full recovery.
