EL PASO — The El Paso Police Department continues to see decreases in several crime categories through first half of 2012 across the city compared to this same time period the previous year.
The category with the largest decrease to date in 2012 is Burglary of Vehicles which saw a 23% decrease through June 16. Other crime categories with downward trends were Vehicle Thefts with a 10 percent drop, and a three percent drop in assaults and robbery. There have been noted increases in the number of Burglaries and Larceny which are both up three percent for 2012.
