EL PASO — The City of El Paso Animal Services takes to Facebook to promote adoption awareness, in addition to revamping its website.
"Facebook has proven to be a very effective tool for us to help get the word out about adoptable pets in El Paso. Every pet we have posted on Facebook has been successfully placed in a loving home,” said Kurt Fenstermacher, Environmental Services Department Deputy Director. “Social media has become another tool for us to use in increasing our adoptions, awareness and goodwill at the City's animal shelter.”
The new website (www.elpasotexas.gov/environmental_services/animals.asp ) is more user-friendly and feature responsible pet ownership information, guidelines for reporting lost pets, and shelter pets available for adoption.
The division’s Facebook profile (www.facebook.com/elpasoanimalservices ) showcases shelter pets seeking loving homes.
The public may also visit the shelter, at 5001 Fred Wilson, to look for their pets or view potential pets. The shelter’s kennels located on the eastside of the main office area are open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Shelter hours of operation are from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call (915) 842-1000.
