EL PASO, TX — The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation hosted their 2nd annual event for adults over 50 to get out and exercise.
The event was held Saturday at Polly Harris Senior Center/Galatzan Recreation Center from 8am-1pm. It featured a series of sports, workshops and recreational activities to promote health and active lifestyles.Through the event, Parks and Recreation continues to develop the quality of sporting and recreational opportunities for people 50 and older.
" The purpose for having a sports festival is to stimulate physical activity among the community here for the seniors. and we invite everybody to come test and challenge some of the competitors," said David Lopez, a Parks and Recreation volunteer.
Parks and Recreation wants to implement the sports festival at every single center.
