EL PASO - City Council will be asking voters to approve a quality of life bond election package of up to $475 million.
That was the decision by Council Members at a special meeting Thursday.
In November, voters can decide to support a tax increase that would pay to create parks, improve the El Paso Zoo, and add a sports/enterntainment venue to the City.
The Council is also considering asking for money on a separate ballot item to create a new Triple-A baseball stadium. It may ask to find alternate funding for building the stadium, possibly through raising the hotel occupancy tax.
Also, City leaders say they can't ask the public to vote to raise taxes to fix up Sun Bowl Stadium, as it is a state-owned facility.
