Wednesday, February 24: This weekend, Mark Levitt will take 8 Coronado High School swimmers to the Texas 5A State Championships, and that's a school record. 2 girls relay teams have made it to state, along with one boys relay team - then there's Jake Hartley. The defending state champion in the 50-meter freestyle will look to defend his gold medal, and his bronze in the 100-free. Jake Hartley said,"It's a little bit more serious now, that I know I can actually win again. It's a lot more nerveracking being the title holder. Head Coach Mark Levitt added,"
I have never had a swimmer like Jake. It's only the second state champion in Coronado's history, dating back to 1971." The State Championships take place this weekend in Austin.
