EL PASO - There's not enough water in our area reservoirs to keep the Rio Grande flowing all summer here in El Paso.
The El Paso Water Utilities is urging residents to conserve water now so mandatory restrictions don't have to be enforced later.
Our main dams, Elephant Butte and Caballo are only 16% full.
All Borderland residents are asked to make small changes now like turning off your water while you wash your hair and cutting back to only watering your lawn twice a week on your assigned days.
