EL PASO — The El Paso Museum of Art and the El Paso Public Library announce the opening of the Algur H. Meadow Art Library.
The facility becomes the first public library dedicated to art in the United States.
"It has not been about this is what I do as an art library or this is the prerogative of a public library. It has been about what can we do to make sure the next generation of users have an appreciation of art and culture and love the place they live in and call home," said Dionne Mack-Harvin, City of El Paso Director of Libraries.
The library focuses on American, Mexican and European art.
