EL PASO, TX — The British businessman accused of plotting to sell missile parts to Iran is out of jail.
Newschannel 9 was there at the federal courthouse as Christopher Tappin walked out.
On Monday, District Judge David Briones set his bond at $1,000,000 with a $50,000 deposit.
“All I can say at this moment in time is that I'm quite thankful to Judge Briones for granting me bail and I look forward to putting my case in court in the near future,” said Tappin.
Tappin is flying to Houston Wednesday and will live with his attorney in Montgomery County. He will stay under GPS surveillance and other restrictions. The judge has advised Tappin to speak only to his attorney and immediate family members.
