El Paso's own Antonio Escalante faced Francisco Camacho (10-2, 3 KO's) of Mexico and simply overwhelmed Camacho from the start getting the TKO 2 minutes into the fourth round of an 8 round junior lightweight bout Saturday at the Haskins Center. A solid victory for Escalante who improves to 26-4 with 18 knockouts. Tony is glad it ended when it did.
"This guy was tough. He came in to fight. I did hurt him three or four times to the body then to the head. I thought I was going to finish him earlier but he stood his ground. Finally we ended it in the fourth round which was good," said Escalante.
As for the rest of the action, in the first fight Luis Ramos Jr. defeated Daniel Attah in a 10 round unanimous decision.
