EL PASO — Police arrested Aaron Rojas, 19, on Monday evening on two charges of aggravated assault against a public servant.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, deputies broke up a reported underage drinking party in the desert last Friday. When deputies approached, Rojas and several others tried to drive away, and Rojas allegedly struck two sheriff's deputies with his vehicle.
Deputies fired back, shooting Rojas. Rojas was being treated at an area hospital, but was arrested Monday upon his release.
His bond is set at $1 million.
